This proved to be a wonderful event and all the results are now available using the link on the left. We hope to put a tournament report and some games up later but to all involved, players, parents, coaches, helpers and sponsors - many thanks.

OVERVIEW:  

The SAJCL is delighted to host the 2008 Australian Schools Championships on Saturday 6th December and Sunday 7th December 2008. It will be played at Rostrevor College. Special thanks to Mr Robert Hoile for his generous sponsorship.

We now have 8 teams in the Secondary Open - for the first time, one from the Northen Territory - wonderful! - and so it has been necessary to change the time limits for this event only to accommodate the two extra rounds. The change to the time limit means that each player in the Secondary Open will have 45 minutes per game with an extra 10 second incremented added for each move from the start of the game. Approval for this change has been given by the Australian Chess Federation. All other time limits remain the same - 1 hour per player + 10 second inc.

A reminder that the traditional BBQ will take place at around 6pm on Saturday.

The Presentation of Trophies by Ms Lindsay Simmons MP will take place on Sunday at 3.30pm
